Welcome to my HomeLab & Blog site!
I’m studying for a bachelor’s degree in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations and planning to get CC, A+, Sec+, Net+ certifications by the end of 2026. I’m passionate about Cybersecurity, DFIR, GRC, and learning in general. I’m also a volunteer sysadmin/CTO/CISO/GRC analyst at a small non-profit organization. The purpose of this site is to record me learning hands-on skills by breaking things at home and what that I learned through volunteering. My labs are for absolute beginners, and you’ll see me learn things like:
- Setting up Virtual Machines
- Using tools, various OS, CLI commands
- Doing basic malware analysis
- Practicing particular concepts or school lab work
- Learning about digital artifacts, where to find them
The Blogs are my research notes, interesting news, lessons learned, cyber community news and resources, etc.
My ultimate goal is to help other beginners, like myself, who aren’t sure about how to start a home lab but want to learn how to do things through practice. You’ll see mistakes and some information maybe incorrect. While I strive to be accurate and verify my sources, I’m also giving myself space to be wrong from time to time. I believe that’s natural and expected at any level. So be sure to verify my findings and sources, don’t just take what I say and run with it.
If you have any lab suggestions or requests, you can contact me at ZeroKeyStrokes@proton.me // You can also find me in Discord, on the SimplyCyber channel.
PS: This site is and will be under construction for a while. I’m learning how to build this from scratch. Things may break and look weird from time to time.
