Welcome to my HomeLab & Blog site!
I’m studying for a bachelor’s degree in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations and planning to get CC, A+, Sec+, Net+ certifications by the end of 2026. I’m passionate about Cybersecurity, DFIR, GRC, and learning in general. I’m also a volunteer sysadmin/CTO/CISO/GRC analyst at a small non-profit organization. These labs are my field notes, my records of learning hands-on skills and tools. Some things you might see here are:
- Setting up Virtual Machines
- Using tools, various OS, CLI commands
- Doing basic malware analysis
- Practicing particular concepts or school lab work
- Learning about digital artifacts, where to find them
The Blogs are my research notes, interesting news, lessons learned, cyber community news and resources, etc.
My hope is that other beginners, like myself, will be inspired to start playing with tools and concepts, try and break some things. This is not an educational site but a sandbox. The field of “technology/cybersecurity” is HUGE and can feel intimidating to newcomers. It’s an ever-widening labyrinth of concepts, stacked inside other concepts, piled into even more abstractions, and if you love this field, you will never stop learning. One of the reasons I wanted to create this site is to normalize not knowing/understanding a topic, or needing to poke at it a few dozen times before it starts clicking. Maybe you’ll see a lab here and think “This is dumb, I can make a better one lab” or “this is not complete/correct, let me verify this” and actually do that.
If you have any lab suggestions or requests, you can contact me at ZeroKeyStrokes@proton.me // You can also find me in Discord, on the SimplyCyber channel.
PS: This site is and will be under construction for a while. I’m learning how to build this from scratch. Things may break and look weird from time to time.
